We’re proud to introduce CATUR Coffee Company as one of our Producer Friends — a pioneering force in the Indonesian coffee landscape, driven by innovation, collaboration, and a bold vision for change.
Founded by Indonesian Barista Champion Mikael Jasin, CATUR is both a specialty and commercial green bean exporter. The name CATUR, derived from the ancient Sanskrit word for “Four,” represents the company’s four core taste profiles — Bumi, Senja, Pucuk, and Kamala — each reflecting a unique approach to coffee processing and flavor development in collaboration with their partner producers.
The agents of change mission started when Kenny Ang and Mikael Jasin drove over 4,000 KM around Indonesia in 2020, visiting CATUR’s partner farmers & processors to process coffee from the cherry level.
One of the biggest challenges in Indonesian coffee has always been consistency — in yield, availability, and most importantly, in flavor. CATUR tackles this head-on with a blend of science and craft: working alongside microbiologists to develop proprietary fermentation precursor inoculants, as well as pioneering harvest maximization and blending techniques that deliver reliably distinct profiles from season to season.
At Kopi Fabriek, we deeply resonate with CATUR’s mission to be Agents of Change, not only showcasing the full potential of Indonesian coffee, but elevating it — sustainably, collaboratively, and with pride — onto the global stage.
We’re excited to share CATUR’s coffees and stories with you, and to grow together as part of this vibrant, evolving community.
This lot features a single varietal Abyssinia, from Pantan Cuaca Estate.
Pantan Cuaca Estate is more than just a coffee farm — it's a living example of how agriculture and nature can thrive side by side. The estate is dedicated to sustainable coffee cultivation, with a core mission to protect the surrounding ecosystem while producing high-quality coffee. The goal is simple yet powerful: to ensure that coffee farming doesn’t come at the cost of the environment. At Pantan Cuaca, the land is managed with respect for biodiversity, soil health, and forest preservation — creating a space where coffee trees and wildlife can coexist in harmony.
This lot is processed using an anaerobic natural method and guided by kamala's unique fermentation protocols and flavor precursors.
Kamala means lotus as well as the color pale red in Sanskrit. This is Catur's take on what Indonesian coffees could be under experimental yet directed post-harvest techniques.
Kamala offers different arrays of fruity, boozy and out of this world flavours! They achieved this through the use of mostly anaerobic natural technique as well as trial-based inoculants.
