Sisola

Sisola has been representing the land of Luwu, Sulawesi, retaining the classic Sulawesi characteristic of a clean, sweet cup of coffee. The word Sisola comes from the local Luwu language and means “together” (or “bersama” in the Indonesian language), conveying the idea that they are working with farmers to elevate the quality and market opportunities for Luwu coffee. Along with its partnered smallholder farmers, Sisola focuses on producing honey processed coffee, elevating the quality of Arabica coffee while practicing rigorous quality control, fermentation, and multi-level sorting.

Sisola values the fair pricing of coffee beans and pays a fair amount to farmers. They pay more and faster, but it’s not charity, it’s adding value and returning that value to the very top of the supply chain. With the farmers bringing a higher standard of ripeness, and Sisola processing with a higher standard of care, together they produce a specialty product that stands apart in this region where coffee has only prior been sold into commodity markets.
